The Kiwanis Club of Mount Vernon is excited to announce its 2025 Skagit County Prayer Breakfast honoring elected officials and leaders will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 at McIntyre Hall in Mount Vernon. Doors open at 6:30 am with a buffet, program at 7:00. Mount Vernon Kiwanis Club and City of Mount Vernon Mayor, Peter Donovan, are pleased to invite you as our guests to Annual Skagit Community Prayer Breakfast.

Celeste Mergens is an award-winning bestselling author, speaker, and founder of global award-winning Days for Girls International. Days for Girls was named by the Huffington Post as a ‘Next Ten’ Organization poised to change the world in the next decade and has reached 3.6+ million women and girls, and communities in 145 countries with menstrual wellness resources and health education.

An innovative thought-leader that has founded several successful organizations, Celeste is a sought after speaker averaging over 20 speaking events a year. Celeste has been named Conscious Company Global Impact Entrepreneurs Top Ten Women, Global Washington Global Hero, and Women’s Economic Forum’s Woman of the Decade. She has been featured in Oprah’s O Magazine, Forbes, and Stanford Social Innovation Review.

She is married to her best friend, Don Mergens. Their family includes 11 phenomenal children (five by marriage), 15 grandchildren, four foster children, and four foreign exchange students – plus many beloved friends who have become family all around the world.

This short but powerful event that lifts one another up across Skagit County. The breakfast is modeled after the National Prayer Breakfast held in Washington D.C. every year, commemorating the National Day of Prayer. Established in the spirit of the National Prayer Day to honor and pray for elected officials and appointed leaders, it’s history goes back to the early 1980’s. The Prayer Breakfast is open to everyone.

Recommended donation $25 per entrant for the general public.
