Welcome to the famous Kiwanis Salmon Barbeque in 2026!
Dates: Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays April 4th to May 3rd.
Time: 11am-7pm Daily
Location: Hillcrest Park Lodge 1717 S 13th St, Mt Vernon, WA. 98273
You’ve reached the website for the 71st annual Kiwanis Salmon BBQ, and our entire club is working hard in preparation for the best year ever serving our neighbors and friends along with the thousands of tourists who will be visiting our beautiful valley and the tulips that draw them to this area.
If you’ve visited us at the Hillcrest Park in Mount Vernon in the past, then you so much for your support. If you’re new to the BBQ, you’re in for the best salmon meal, grilled over seasoned alder wood. Pair that salmon with fresh coleslaw, garlic bread, baked golden potato and ice cream bar for dessert. Drinks are also included. This is a time-honored tradition of slow grilling until the flavor is just right, cooked by our local Kiwanis members with pride.
Some new things you will see this year while enjoying your meal are the availability of smoked salmon by SeaBear Smokehouse, Salmon BBQ T-Shirts in new colors and fabric tote bags lovingly made by local artisan, Meredith Baker.
For a touch of history, our BBQ has given back to our community over 2 million dollars since we’ve been a Skagit Valley Tulip Festival partner. Some of the beneficiaries of the funds have been hundreds of thousands of dollars in Scholarships for those graduating high-school, funding to the Mount Vernon Parks Department to build the 18th Street Water & Baseball Park as well as the 25th Street Park, Boys & Girls Club funding for their new building, Lincoln Theater, Community Services for their WIC and Safe Car Seats programs, META, Secret Harbor, Children of the Valley, Youth Dynamics, Triumph Teen Center amongst several various summer school projects.
The entire existence of the Kiwanis Salmon BBQ is to raise money for Skagit County Youth (and youth around the world) so every dime we collect gives back to kids.
And it’s not about the fish, it’s about the kids! See you there!
